Five Tips to Help Overcome Candida

March 1, 2011 By Alex Gellman

We are all comprised of a body, mind, spirit and soul.  To only address the body (or physical aspect) when dealing with candida (and other ailments) is to only address one quarter of the whole picture.  Here are five tips to address the four aspects which make up our whole.

To address the body (physical):
–          avoid yeast, wheat, dairy, sugar and fermented foods (i.e. alcohol, vinegars) & nightshade veggies such as mushroom, eggplant, peppers, potato, tomato

The teeth:
–          be aware that dental work (mercury amalgams, crowns & root canals) can contribute to candida in the body – and is difficult to detect as a contributing factor

To address the mind (intellect):
–          positive thinking – start seeing your glass as half full and try to free yourself of the guilt we tend to impose on ourselves
To address the spirit (passion):
–          resurrect what truly makes your heart sing, whether it be a hobby or simply taking some extra time for yourself
To address the soul (emotions):
–          be true to your emotional self – embrace your past, then let it go
–          negative emotions such as guilt and shame,  when kept inside add further fuel to the candida fire
